With the official start of fall yesterday, this is a great time to de-clutter your fall decorations. Every time I pull out any sort of decorations, I always think I should go through everything and get rid of the stuff I don't use anymore, so I did it today. I feel the same way about seasonal decorations as I do everything else....Less is More. Sometimes we can put out too many things because we feel like since we have them we should use them. That's not necessarily a good thing to do. If we use every single decoration we have accumulated over the last 10 or 20 years, it keeps your home feeling cluttered. Not only that, but it is so much more difficult and overwhelming to pull everything out and put it all back into storage again when the season is over.
Here are some steps to help you de-clutter your fall decorations:
- Take all of your Fall decorations out of their storage containers.
- Put out the decorations in your home where you want to use them this year, keeping in mind that "Less is More".
- If there are broken or wornout decorations, throw them away.
- What ever you have left, give away to someone else who could use it.
- If you buy any new decorations this year, be sure to get rid of the some of your old decorations.
- If your storage containers are falling apart and not functioning correctly, you might need to buy some new ones. Keep in mind that clear containers are easy to see inside so you probably won't need to label them. If you don't have clear containers, be sure to label each box so they will be easy to find next year when you need them.
- When you put the decorations away for next year, keep like items together.

Thank you for this.
